The initiative is a cultural cooperation program sponsored by Banco de Reservas. Its goal is to strengthen the presence of Dominican contemporary art on international stages and open professional development opportunities for national creators.

The call for applications received 44 submissions between June and August 2026. Evaluation was carried out by representatives of the Embassy, the Banreservas Cultural Center, the Cité internationale des arts, and independent French curators.

According to El Nacional, the announcement event was attended by Culture Minister Roberto Ángel Salcedo and Cité internationale des arts director Bénédicte Alliot. The artists thanked the organizers and stressed the importance of connecting with the Parisian art ecosystem and accessing archives and resources of French cultural institutions.

During the residencies, Castro and Molina will be able to advance their projects in an environment of research, experimentation, and collaboration with artists from other countries.
