The National Institute of Technical Vocational Training (Infotep) addressed talent retention and development during a meeting with representatives of companies in the San Isidro Free Zone, in Santo Domingo Este. The institution says these factors are strategic for productivity and competitiveness.

The session focused on the challenges of staff management and the importance of training to develop workers' skills, improve their performance, and support company growth. As part of the event, psychologist Carlos Manuel Martínez de Jesús, who holds a master's in Organizational Development, gave the talk "Retention and Development of Human Talent."

During his presentation, the specialist said: "The only thing that will change your employees' behavior is training." He added that empathy is a skill that should not be negotiated in workplace relationships. Martínez de Jesús stressed ongoing education and interpersonal skills for leading teams in a business environment that demands prepared staff and adaptability.

Iris Hurtado, director of Infotep's Eastern Regional office, said organizational success depends largely on employees' preparation, so training is an investment that can improve productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness. Abel Rodríguez, head of Special Programs, presented the services available to companies, including training and support opportunities.

Through these initiatives, Infotep aims to bring its training services closer to free-zone companies and promote better conditions for productivity in the sector.
