Dominican duo Martox has presented its new single, "De Cero," a track that mixes bolero with contemporary Caribbean pop and reggaeton rhythms. For the duo, the song reflects its sound identity, which combines traditional Dominican music with modern production.

The lyrics are a direct request to a former love to leave the past behind, own up to mistakes and begin a new story. Between the vulnerability of asking for forgiveness and the hope of recovering what was lost, the song suggests the possibility of a "second first time."

"For us, 'De Cero' is a bridge between the music we grew up with and what moves us today," says Martox. "It's about making mistakes and asking for that almost impossible opportunity to act like nothing happened. It's accepting that we failed, being vulnerable and proposing the crazy idea of forgetting the whole history to try again from the beginning."

According to members Eduardo Baldera and Juan Miguel "Juanmi" Martínez, the song was born spontaneously during production sessions for their album "Caracol." While Baldera experimented with a synthesizer, the chords emerged, and Martínez began humming the melodies. The idea was set aside until both returned to it and completed the song.

The release includes an official music video directed by Víctor Cantisano, available on YouTube, along with the digital premiere of the single. "De Cero" will be part of "Aura Divina," the duo's upcoming EP, which will combine acoustic guitar, tambora and güira with synthesizers and electronic textures.
