The Association of Arts Chroniclers (Acroarte) has increased anticipation about who will host the 2027 Soberano Awards. The organization posted photos without faces on its Instagram account, with the caption: "Everyone knows them, but we won't show their faces yet."
In the comments, users began suggesting their favorites. According to De Último Minuto, the names drawing the most attention are Nahiony Reyes, Juan Carlos Pichardo, Jhoel López and Pamela Sued. That same outlet notes that comedian and broadcaster Juan Carlos Pichardo has long been proposed, both by the public and by entertainment figures, as the ideal candidate to host the Dominican Republic's most prestigious award.
Acroarte, meanwhile, began the evaluation meetings for the artists and standout works of the first half of the year. These sessions involve the juries for the Cine, Clásico, Comunicación and Popular categories, and are part of preparing the 42nd edition of the awards, which will be held on March 17, 2027.
Marivell Contreras, president of Acroarte, said these meetings officially launch production of the edition. The awards are co-sponsored by Cervecería Nacional Dominicana and will be produced for the fourth consecutive year by César Suárez Jr.
The show will air on Color Visión (channel 9) in the Dominican Republic, and on Univisión and the ViX platform in the United States.
